banana pudding

This qualitative research project explores how collegiate women of color define and embody womanhood. Each woman reflects on their evolving relationship with their mother and the lessons she embodied or explicitly espoused. Banana Pudding demonstrates a woman’s conception of self as coinciding, complicating, or challenging these lessons, while exploring the multitude of ways she has learned how to heal and to love in the wake of emerging womanhood. Its two lines of inquiry include: what does it mean to be a woman and how do our matrilineal lines, and their various metamorphoses, challenge or coincide with these internal processes that emerge concurrently with womanhood?
